Moyer Farms Raw Honey.
The main reason we have beehives is so the bees can pollinate our produce. However, we have found the honey from the hives to be a welcome byproduct! We collect the honey from the hives every fall, run it through a coarse filter, and then bottle it. We leave our honey raw so it maintains all of its health benefits. Using a coarse filter also ensures we do not filter out the pollen.
Fun Facts about Raw Honey.
*Raw honey contains bee pollen which provides natural allergy relief
*Raw honey is a natural cough syrup. 1/2 to 2 teaspoons at bedtime has been shown to be as effective as commercial cough syrups
*Raw honey contains polyphenols which are powerful antioxidants that help block free radicals in the body that cause disease
*Raw honey is a natural antibacterial. Honey infused bandages are known to aid in wound healing
*Raw honey does not cause blood sugar to spike like white sugar
We grow a variety of fruits and veggies including green beans, tomatoes, strawberries, watermelons, cantaloupe, okra, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, yellow squash, and pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes. We are in the process of adding a hydroponics system and will be raising various greens in this.
The majority of our produce is not 100% organic but we minimize chemical use and use various techniques to build the health of our soil so that we can produce a healthy product. We are in the process of adding additional greenhouses and plan to commit some of these greenhouses to 100% organic produce.
Our goal is to produce fruits and veggies
that Nathan’s wife, Erin, would buy
(she is a health nut and VERY picky
about the quality of food she buys
for her family) ☺
Kombucha is a fizzy drink made from black or green tea and flavored with organic fruits, vegetables, or herbs. A culture called a “scoby” (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) grows in the mixture and infuses it with beneficial probiotics, enzymes, vitamins, and anti-oxidants. Its benefits include:
• Loaded with probiotics, enzymes, vitamins, and anti-oxidants
• Great for gut health
• Aids digestion and weight loss
• Boosts energy
• Decreases anxiety and depression
• Increases mental clarity
• Cleansing and detoxifying
• Kids love it
• Low in sugar
Kombucha only has approximately 5-15 grams of sugar per 20 oz serving. Compare this to Gatorade with 34 grams of sugar or 20 oz sodas that typically contain at least 60 grams of sugar per serving. Plus kombucha is loaded with good probiotics for the gut! Kids love the stuff. Why not try a drink for kids that tastes good and is actually good for them too?!
We carry a variety of products from other Missouri growers in our store. The products we purchase from other growers do not have any artificial ingredients or additives.
These products include elderberry juice, salsas, pickles, marinara sauce, and various jams. We are always looking for Missouri grown, whole/clean foods to add to our shelves!
